What machines do here, and what they never will.
This publication is built by a small team that uses modern tools without apology and without pretending otherwise. Here is the boundary, stated plainly.
We use AI systems as production tools: to engineer and maintain the site itself, to assist research by finding and organizing source material, and to help draft and edit under human direction. In each case the machine proposes and a person disposes.
Nothing is published that a person has not read, verified and approved. In particular:
- Every published fact is checked by a person against a named source before publication, whoever or whatever drafted the sentence around it.
- No AI-generated images are published as editorial photography. Photographs of places and people are real, verified and credited.
- No invented quotes, reviews, events, prices or figures, machine-made or otherwise. Our Editorial Standards apply to every sentence regardless of how its first draft came to exist.
- AI systems do not decide what we cover, whom we recommend, or what a ranking says.
During the design phase of the site, the decorative photographs on section pages are generated images and are labeled Draft imagery where they appear. They illustrate the design, not the reporting, and they are being replaced with verified photography. Article photography is never generated.
If our use of these tools materially changes, this page changes first, with a dated revision. If a published piece ever includes generated imagery as illustration, it is labeled on the piece. Questions about this policy: editorial@palmbeach.us.
