Kassatly's has been on Worth Avenue since 1923, which makes it the oldest store on the street and older than most of the buildings around it. Sam and Alice Kassatly founded it; their sons Edward and Robert run it now, selling imported and domestic linens, designer lingerie, sweaters and menswear from the same block.

It survives on an avenue that turns over constantly, and that survival is its own recommendation: the shop is the continuity Worth Avenue talks about and rarely demonstrates.
