Worth Avenue

Worth Avenue runs four blocks from Lake Worth to the Atlantic and carries around 250 shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. It was named in 1913 for General William Jenkins Worth; it became a shopping street in the 1920s, after Addison Mizner and Paris Singer built the Everglades Club at its western end and merchants followed.

What separates it from every other luxury street is the vias: narrow Mediterranean courtyard lanes, Via Mizner and Via Parigi among them, named for those two developers and lined with small shops behind fountains and stairs. The street was rebuilt in 2010 in a 15.8 million dollar project that planted 200 mature coconut palms. The oldest store on it, Kassatly's, has traded since 1923.
