The Sailfish Club was organized in 1914, which makes it the oldest private club in Palm Beach, older than the Everglades Club by five years and older than most of the town around it. It sits at the north end on Lake Way, with its own docks on the Intracoastal.

Its founding purpose, sport fishing, still shapes it, and its clubhouse marks the northern end of the Lake Trail for anyone walking the island. Access is for members and their guests.
